What League represents:
Women who gained the right to vote in 1920 founded the League of Women Voters and it quickly became a highly respected civic organization. League took on the mission of registering new voters, promoted healthy communities, and became a recognized repository of civic knowledge. League continues to be:
♦ Non-partisan, so we never endorse candidates or favor political parties
♦ Consensus driven, so we take positions on issues that are important to our members
♦ Committed to mobilizing the community to vote and take action
♦ Open to everyone who supports our mission of Making Democracy Work.
The League of Women Voters of Southern Nevada never supports or opposes candidates for office, or political parties, and any use of the League of Women Voters name in campaign advertising or literature has not been authorized by the League.
Our Spring meetings will be held on the third Saturday of each month except for December. Networking starts at 9:00 am, breakfast at 9:30 am and presentation at 10 am. We meet at the University United Methodist Church, 4412 South Maryland Parkway across from UNLV, between Flamingo and Tropicana. Ample parking is available.
